Things have been unusually busy on the work and home fronts. No time to blog. My apologies. I hope you all are doing well. I’ve dropped by and read some of your stuff trying to keep up, but didn’t have time to respond to all of you like I normally would.
In order to keep my head above water, I did not get in any new writing on the WIP this week and have been unable to read through submissions. I’m hoping to start playing catch-up this weekend. My goal is 3000 words over the weekend (and I’m itching to go while dreading it at the same time — I feel anxious like I do if I haven’t worked out in too long).
I also plan on catching up on submissions. The Fall issue of Southern Fried Weirdness is coming together nicely, but slowly. I’m hoping for a late October publication date, but it may be November. There’s still a lot of room. I am looking specifically for more non-fiction/reviews, flash fiction, and poetry.
I did receive some good news this week — my poem "Progress" was accepted by The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature to appear sometime in November and Morrigan Books’s new e-zineThe Morrigan accepted my story "Stagehands"for their debut issue appearing later this month. I’m especially excited about having "Stagehands" published because its one of my personal favorites and I am ecstatic it found a good home.
Oh…and just because I needed something else to do…
I signed my 5-yr old up for the city’s basketball league and volunteered to be an assistant coach on his team. Coach T.J.? or Coach Mac? I haven’t decided yet…
