New Author Spotlight and Recommended Reading

11 09 2009

I have a new author profile currently posted in Fantasy: “Viva l’Other: Jerome Stueart” —  http://www.darkfantasy.org/fantasy/?p=5244

Jerome’s story is also one of my recommended reads for this week.

 Recommended Reading:

"The Moon Over Tokyo through Leaves in the Fall” by Jerome Stueart: http://www.darkfantasy.org/fantasy/?p=5217 — In many ways, this one really spoke to the inner conflict I’ve been feeling lately when it comes to family time vs. art.

The Great God Pan by Arthur Machen: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/389/389-h/389-h.htm#chap05 — The use of purple prose info-dumps through dialogue feel a little dated, but other than that, this story really holds up to a modern sensibility well.  One can easily see how this man inspired so many over the years, from Lovecraft to Stephen King to House of Leaves. Awesome.

Have a great weekend!

How did you get your gig with _Fantasy_? asks the gonzo putz.

I’d like some of that.
