Morning Mist/Rolling Hills/Streams/Clotheslines

The Century of Compassion ride this morning was beautiful. I took my time and really enjoyed the scenery on the route this year. We rode from downtown Columbiana out to Lay Lake and back, a distance of about 26 miles. The weather was perfect and relatively cool for Alabama in early June.

Today, my wife and I are celebrating my birthday. My mother-in-law agreed to watch the kids to give us a little time to ourselves. We’re going out to eat at a local Japanese restaurant and then I’m going to spend a gift card she got for me at Books-A-Million. It’s nothing big, but for us just getting out for a day without the kids feels like a little bit of a vacation.
