I started writing the last book in my trilogy last night. Beginning this felt clunky and awkward, but I made some progress. I’m already into the first action scene which of course makes it fun for me. That’s the good thing about writing a sequel, you can really get right into the action without all that build-up, because the build-up is already there from the previous books. I really am happy to be writing these characters again, but it’s slow going as I keep having to reference things from the previous books. After I get this done, I look forward to writing more stand alone projects. With this book the rules/races/worlds are already static and predefined so I need to stay consistent instead of creating new races/worlds which I really like to do. I did introduce a new race of creature in the second chapter, but it was one that was already hinted at in the other books — just not defined.
Okay. Done for the day. Now it’s time to get out and play with my boys.

That sounds familiar, except I’m only at the first book of my series. This, I hope, will be the final revision.
