It’s busy around here. After stealing some time for myself to take a jog, I spent a large hunk of the day having a blast with my four year old making and decorating sugar cookies. They weren’t pretty — neither of us should consider work as professional bakers — but we just about ate the whole batch between the two of us. With all the sugar, he’s been running around like a chimpanzee on meth. We did manage to save a  couple for “Santa.” It was a good way to start this Christmas break.

I just looked at my email. I’ve been keeping pretty up-to-date with submissions, responding in some instances in less than a day. There are a few a week or so old, but I foresee my response times growing a little as these submissions are piling in. There’s some really good stuff coming in, stuff worth a second read. I look forward to sharing some of these stories in the months ahead. I’m really impressed by some of the authors who’ve been turning in stories lately.

Speaking of authors, Eric S. Brown, a contributor to Southern Fried Weirdness Online has a new book soon to be released from Permuted Press, an amazing small press specializing in Zombie books. I’m looking forward to picking up my copy of Season of Rot sometime next year.
